Spring is a beautiful season and everyone loves it — the sun is brighter, the days are getting warmer and longer. No matter what your age, spring is a great time to do some activities at home or outdoors. Have fun and enjoy this season by engaging in these activities for seniors.

  1. Start planting herb, flowering plants and seeds

Head outside your senior apartment or home and visit your local nurseries. Enjoy this pleasant weather with your loved ones by planting and growing an herb, flowering plants and seeds in your garden, patio or window sills. This activity is a great form of exercise that has many health benefits — it improves flexibility, stamina, reduces stress levels and promotes relaxation.

  1. Relax and pamper yourself

Open your windows and read your Bible or a devotional book while having a cup of coffee or tea. Treat yourself with a relaxing bath using your favorite bath and skin care products and exfoliate your skin. Exfoliating is one of the most effective ways to keep your skin look younger and brighter. Book a salon, manicure and pedicure date with your family or friends.

  1. Declutter and revamp your place

Spring is a great opportunity to start decluttering and redecorating your space. But, ask your family members to help you with this chore. Make this chore a meaningful activity by going through your keepsakes. Get rid of the things that you don’t need or want. Clean and revamp your space by adding colorful decorations, frames, artworks, etc.

It’s not too late to try a new hobby. Arts and crafts are one of the best activities that seniors can do and participate. Learn calligraphy, Bible journaling, scrapbooking, jewelry or pot making. And, try these healthy activities that are perfect for spring season like golfing, fishing, yoga, swimming or do something that is exciting and have your interest.

Enjoying spring can be simple from taking a walk through your neighborhood, having a picnic with your loved ones to having fun with your grandchildren outdoors.
